At the beginning of 2011 we had 6 three year old horses. We decided to sell 5 and keep one to bring forward in 2012. Even though prices are not the same as a few years back we sold our last 3 year old yesterday of our 5 horses and are content with the overall price figure we achieved for them. There is clearly more of a market for 3-4 year olds than foals but with the bloodlines we have we are quiet happy to keep our foals and wait until they are 3-4 year olds before we do anything with them. We have 10 foals this year, 7 which are homebred and they are the best crop of foals we have ever had. We believe in our stallions and its great to see the results on the ground!
